2017 Moorilla Cloth Label Red 750ml

2017 Moorilla Cloth Label Red 750ml

As they use every variety in the vineyard, Cloth Label wines are always very vintage-driven, and 2017 was our longest ever, with good, cool conditions overall. Each variety (pinot noir, shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, a tiny bit of riesling) was fermented individually in oak before blending to build a deep, complex wine that’s still decidedly medium-bodied. Fruit intensity on the nose is excellent, backed by spicier, sweet notes of tobacco, leather and pepper. A soft but consistent acidity anchors a sophisticated, rewarding palate of red fruit, plums and a sweet, surprising vibrance.

A really lovely, elegant medium-full bodied red which drinks superbly right now, but will also age well.
